Instruction – Viola & Violin
Spencer Morgan began studying music at the age of nine, starting on viola in elementary school. As a high school student, Spencer studied viola privately with Kathy Peet from 2009 to 2011. During his junior and senior years in high school, Spencer participated as a violist in the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) Eastern-Region and All-State festivals.
Spencer attended the University of Connecticut beginning in the fall of 2011, studying music with a focus on viola. During his time at UCONN, Spencer studied with private viola instructors including Robert Meyer, Steve Larson, and Solomiya Ivakhiv. Spencer graduated from the School of Fine Arts in 2015 with a BA in Viola, as well as graduating from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a BA in Psychology in 2017.
As an instructor, Spencer is committed to setting and reaching goals for students of all skill levels. Spencer believes in establishing an enjoyment for playing violin/viola, as well as a general appreciation for music. Lessons involve repertoire for musical and technical development, and students are encouraged to bring music they are interested in learning.
