Considering a Bass Guitar?
As the lowest-pitched piece in the guitar family, bass guitars can provide the deep, low tones you desire. Bass guitars have longer necks and scale more lengths than other guitars and usually consist of 4, 5, or 6 strings, depending on the pitch of the notes you’re producing.
When strings are plucked, an electromagnetic “pickup” on the bass senses the disruption in a magnetic field caused by the vibrating string. This signal is sent to an amplifier, where you can adjust the bass, mid-range, and treble frequencies to create your own sound to anchor that “low-end” in the band’s rhythm section.
Bass guitars play a key role in some of your favorite songs. Some notable basslines can be heard in popular songs like “Give it Away” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and “Under Pressure” by Queen & David Bowie!
